Different manufacturers work with different types of warranty. Below is an overview of the warranty types you might come across. Before you buy, you can check out the warranty type under the product description on the product page. It’s listed next to «Returns and warranty». Bring-in is the most common form of warranty that manufacturers offer. Here’s how it works: You take the device to one of the repair centres or you send it in. You need to cover any costs for postage yourself. Once the device has been examined, we’ll send it back to you – or if you’d rather you can collect it from a store. Please note that you can only bring into or collect from a store when the product is under 30 kg. For more information on dealing with heavy or bulky items, see here.
Pick up & return
Some manufacturers offer a pick up & return warranty. This means you contact the manufacturer’s repair centre directly and make an appointment for them to collect the device. Sometimes repair centres provide a returns label so you don’t have to pay anything for the return.
This type of warranty is usually offered for white goods, such as washing machines and tumble dryers. In the event you have to use it, you register the damage online and get details of the repair centre that handles it. You then contact the repair centre to make an appointment with a technician. When they come round, they’ll investigate the fault and do their best to repair it. If they can’t fix the fault on site, they’ll take the appliance back to the repair centre and return it to you once it’s fixed.
As well as these types of warranty, you also have the option to extend and/or upgrade warranty on a number of products.
