There’s no getting around the fact roaming is expensive. That’s why we try to shield you from unexpected and unwanted costs as much as possible. For instance, we don’t offer pay-as-you-go data rates.
Follow the tips below to avoid any nasty surprises while using your phone abroad:
- If you’re abroad for longer, it’s best to buy a local SIM card.
- Whenever possible, try to only use VoIP Services, like Whatsapp Call. Attention: WiFi calling is not included and will be charged at the normal rate.
- Your voicemail could potentially cost you a lot of money while you’re abroad. If someone phones you or worse still leaves you a voicemail, this is classed as an international call that you will be charged for. To avoid this, switch off your voicemail in your online Cockpit before you travel. You’ll find this option in Settings.
